January 22, 2022 - Tasted along with a 2019 vom Roten Schiefer. Peach, apricot, slate, wet stone, some lemon and lime leaf, subtle petrol notes. Medium body, with lovely fruit richness and depth, a lot of minerality, medium+ acidity gives a racy preciseness to the finish. Again, it's a trocken, but doesn't come across as too austere or lean. I prefer this slightly to the 2019 Roten Schiefer, but think my preference is due to vintage. This wine has more richness and also far higher, and brighter, acidity. But both are worth a rebuy and holding for several years.
