    May 15, 2020 - WOW.

Minerality dominates the nose with a flinty smokiness. Pepper is prevelant (there’s a reason the vineyard is called “spice garden”), along with fresh lemon/citrus.

Ample acidity livens everything and makes this a hard wine to put down.

While I understand conventional thinking suggests cellaring, it’s drinking wonderfully right now. Petrol and honey notes may develop with time, but hard to imagine this objectively getting better.

May 13, 2020 - Sensational quality but this is clearly a long distance runner for the future; lots of tropical peach, tangerine fruits mixed with elder flowers, ginger, lychee (quite Gewurzt-like actually). Super tense, fresh acidity that is very racy and tightens up at first. We decanted this a good hour+ and enjoyed it over 3+ hours. I would give it at least 4-5 years before checking up on again but this needs a solid 10 to see what you're actually dealing with. Very stylistic. Long finish!

February 20, 2020 - GG Riesling Night (S.K.Y. restaurant, Pilsen, Chicago IL): Nose: The nose is lively and fresh with pears, green apples, acacia flowers, chamomile, ginger, peaches, spice notes, saline, and crushed rocks. There is a lot of complexity at the moment but it seems to be holding back a slight bit right now.

Taste: The feel is medium bodied with racy, high acidity. The acidity has some real sting while showing good depth and poise with pears, green apples, acacia flowers, ginger, peaches, saline, and crushed rocks.

Overall: This is in need of some aging to really show itself. The underlying material is extremely good but this feels like it's holding back right now.
