August 3, 2023 - PnP. This is yet a young wine. The color is a deep garnet with brick red tones. Aromas of cherry and camphor are primary with hints of mushroom and garrigue to come. Flavors of cherry, cantaloupe, and minerals, with hints of loam and echoes of mushrooms. Medium+ acidity and grippy tannins round out the slightly light bodied mouthfeel. ABV 14.5%

All-in-all a nice accompaniment to dinner, but promises much more in a few years time.

May 10, 2023 - I decanted 1/2 bottle via Coravin and monitored its progress. Right out of the bottle, it was pretty good with a bit of alcoholic heat, but within 30 minutes the tannins started to firm up. After 90 minutes, it started to open. After 3 hours, the tannins had smoothed out and it was just ready to start drinking.

The color was a clear medium crimson. The nose had red fruit (cherries, raspberries) with mushroom, forest floor in the background. The palate had cherries, iron, other minerals/limestone. The body was medium- with a long finish with drying tannins at the end.

This wine doesn't seem to me to have much complexity in its future based on the current tasting. It will improve some with age, but it doesn't promise to match its quality with its elevated price.

November 26, 2020 - Outstanding. Gave it a 30-45 minute decant prior to serving it with a maple-glazed and sage pork tenderloin. Maybe 'best" wine pairing I've ever had. Perfectly herby alongside cherry, dark berries and licorice. Super fine tannins provide excellent structure, but well integrated. Highly recommend this wine. I see the "drinking window" is recommended to start 2022, but with the 30 minute decant, this wine was beautiful and opened up even more throughout the meal

June 9, 2019 - Decanted 1 hr and drank over 3 hrs. It took a few hours to open up but was silky smooth (tannins) from the outset. One of the most refined Barbaresco's I have had. I will keep for another 2-3yrs before having another.
