January 17, 2015 - Last bottle. Tasted with winemaker (Jefferson Wilkes) back in 2007 and have consumed a case over the past 8 years. It had vibrant fruit (cranberry and blackberry) and acidity in its early life. It went through a bit of a dumb phase about 2011/12, but opened up with more leather and earth notes on the finish. Currently dark brick, with a little yellow at the edge and ever so slightly cloudy. Blueberry and red fruits on the nose with sweet spice and cumin notes. Tart red fruits, plum, dried herbs, and chalky notes on the palate. Acidity is still hanging in there with a moderate finish with cumin again (really distinct and not something I've detected much in Pinot Noir). Drink up now on this one if you have any.

November 15, 2009 - I really liked this wine. I thought that it had a more delicate Burgundy style. It didn't seem too big like lots of CA Pinots. I'm impressed. I wish that I had a whole case of this. Nice subtle fruit with some real complex character. Earthier than most CA Pinots.

July 6, 2009 - Not bad, I agree with others who suggested this took some time to open up as it was much better on day 2 than day 1. First day it was dry and restrained, a little musty and not much fruit. Day two the fruit came on, and it developed into a decently balanced pinot. Good, but not great overall.

October 20, 2008 - Deep and extracted with notes of cherry, red currant, plum cake and licorice. Smooth, round and plush on the palate displaying a lot of richness, not a ton of acid, and a beautiful concentration of fruit.

March 18, 2008 - Family Winemakers of California (Pasadena, CA): Notes of Bing cherries, pomegranates, and crushed minerals. Nice on the palate, but the finish is attenuated.
