Community Tasting Notes 9

December 26, 2022 - This wine needed quite a bit of air. A bit of reduction on the nose, followed by flavors of lemon, smoke, green apples, flint, and grapefruit. Nice acidity on the palate with tart fruit, more lemon, lime, apple, and minerals. Good finish. Very good wine that could need a few years in the cellar to show it's best. 92+

August 6, 2022 - Night at Ravinia (Highland Park, IL): Tasted double blind. Clearly from Burgundy from a young and balanced vintage, I correctly thought 2017. Lots of ripe apple with faint peach and herbaceous traces. Very good depth and weight for its level. Very good now.

June 27, 2022 - Good. Better with air took some time to open but tasting a little ripe and hot

October 17, 2021 - First bottle from Ramonet; very enjoyable; the nose is full of ripe orchard fruit, floral notes, a hint of spice, and just a touch of orange peel; the palate is rich and full bodied with ripe orchard fruits; fleshy, but not heavy; good concentration; I liked this and would definitely be interested in exploring the Ramonet wines further.

June 17, 2021 - Blind 2014 / 2017 White Burgundy (Chez Winefool): Blind. Pretty nose of lemon-lime, orchard fruit and florals. Palate is richly fruited with nice power and balance. Came across a bit simple. When told there was village wine in the otherwise 1er cru lineup, most called this as the village wine. (although then another village bottle turned up, which was mistakingly inserted as a 1er). My 5/5, Group #5.
