February 29, 2024 - See previous notes. A tad on the ripe modern side. Crisp cherries, menthol, roses and tar.

October 5, 2023 - Tim Bday lunch at GW-IT. Tasted blind. Drank in Gabriel Standart.
Guessed correctly as 2016 Nebbiolo but thought it was an elegant La Morra Barolo.
Appearance is clear, pale intensity, ruby colour. Legs.
Nose is clean, medium+ intensity, with aromas of red licorice, floral rose, tar, classic sour red cherries, emerging fresh leather. Developing.
On the palate, dry, medium+ acidity, medium+ alcohol (14%), gum drying high tannins, full body. Medium+ flavour intensity, with flavours of sour red cherries, red plum, iron earth and tar, minerals, red licorice. Long finish.
Very good quality. Lovely nose and palate. Drinking well already and expressive though clearly young. Will continue to develop over the next 5-6 years.

September 26, 2023 - Dinner with Claudia Sottimano (Chicago, IL): Good now, but better with more time. The beautiful red-fruited aromatics of the vintage are on display still, but the flavour on the palate isn't as forthcoming as in a mature example. Just a very modest tinge of oak on the back end, which I think and hope time will swallow.

September 11, 2023 - Subtle notes of red cherry, lingon berry, rose petals and fresh soil. Very elegant expression. Decanted for about 4 hours which allowed the tannins to soften. Excellent quality and very enjoyable at this stage, however most of the bouquet remained in the nutshell. Good prospects
