February 17, 2023 - Beautiful aromatics, deep, rich, balanced. Really pretty and powerful wine that I already find quite enjoyable in its youth.

June 8, 2022 - Rene Rostaing winemaking style has similiraties with Pierre Duroche in Burgundy, the style is about finesse and power. Aromas of flowers, brightness of red fruits, seamless and elegant texture, and very good persistency. Some may prefer Ogier or Jamet, who make fuller wines; nevertheless, this is made in a very natural way, and what I find impressive here, is the wine is 14.5 deg of alcohol, yet there is absolutely no trace of alcohol, but just vibrant and crunchy fruits. And I like that the wine is deliciously long after minimal cellaring now, without any rustic/grippy edge or trace of new oak.

After six hours of air, it became darker, and the flavors turned to blue and black fruits. A very good sign for the future. In a couple of years, it will be much more complex, this is a beauty.

May 2, 2022 - Plush, power and clarity that set this wine apart. I simply opened this bottle to experience it young in preparation for my trip to France and get my palate in the right zone. Context to wine experience is almost as important as the experience itself.

Opened 4 hours before consumption, on the first taste, it simply a ball of fruit so wound up that it was just a bullet hitting your mouth. Then as it opened up, notes like mulberries and black fruits began to emerge and then at the end, you get more complexity through spice, violets, floral notes and fine tannin. What a journey it was and I suspect I only tasted the foreground while the background was still out of focus.

A great wine then but one to be savoured in 15+ years from now. A definite 95+ wine in time.
