January 24, 2022 - Dark reddish garnet in color with little signs of aging. Full, forward & fragrant nose of ripe fruit aromas of dark cherries, blackberries & dried figs with overtones of spices & earthy notes, minerals, toffee, cocoa & a hint of cedar in the background. Full bodied with a very good concentration of well balanced & smooth textured, ripe fruit flavors of blackberries, dark cherries, dried figs & raisins with spices, bittersweet cocoa, minerals & a hint of vanilla. Long lingering finish. Drinks quite well at present with decanting & extended airing. Even at 30 years of age, it should continue to develop further with additional aging although further development may be minimal.

February 23, 2013 - opened after byob dinner at tre amici in long branch. shared with pat as well as marty and sandy, in their home. paired with walnuts, chocolate covered cashews, barilla crackers and home made blue cheese/celery and sour cream dip. difficult to evaluate due to small glass. difficult to nose. youthful dark color. ample fruit. good porto character. medium sweetness and body. not a lot of viscosity in the glass although there was no opportunity to swirl. no viscosity in the mouth either. overall, fairly straightforward. fully mature but will probably last a few more years before starting decline.

August 25, 2010 - Nice port, but a touch over the hill. All of the fruit has faded into prune and raisin flavors with notes of walnut and caramel but the alcohol is overpowering. Tasty, but dissapointing.

February 6, 2010 - Decanted for about 3 hours. Opened up nicely. A bit acidic, but overall a nice port.

February 10, 2007 - PWS; Some Italian wines (@ DE): No formal notes. Ripe blackberries and blueberries. Round. Good sweetness.
