Community Tasting Notes 8

June 6, 2012 - A modern styled Barbera with a lot of fruit and oak. Still has some tannin and just starting to taste aged. Drink or hold.

April 16, 2012 - Consistent with prior note, but every so slightly declining, or shutting down. Lacked the power of the first bottle. Last one for me.

January 23, 2011 - Dark fruit, very approachable, good with pasta and pesto.

January 12, 2011 - Forest, gunpowder, leather and cherry. Sour, savory and gamy with a little bite. Seems like a lot of acid and I am not picking up much tannin.

October 3, 2010 - What a pleasant surprise this bottle was. Dark fruit nose and palate of mild earth (maybe a bit of smoke?) and some oak. Mildly angry that softened nicely with each passing glass. Goes down very easily, nice QPR. Pairs well with beef/pork and mild red sauces.

(BOGLIETTI Barbera Roscaleto) Value Dear Friends, If you are looking for value on wine that was never intended to be offered for under $20-30, here you go (in the case of the Boglietti, $30-40+). All have been perfectly stored and all will be ready for local pick up in approximately one week. I believe all three of the wines received 88-89pt scores and that's why they are now in the bargain bin. As far as your everyday enjoyment, I doubt if you will miss the extra point or two. All of the producers below are highly thought of and all have received exemplary critical acclaim throughout the years (Agostina Pieri - that may be a record?). All are 750ml and, intellectual dissection aside, these are priced to drink - not to fuss over. FIRST COME FIRST SERVED up to 12/each wine until we run out: 2006 Dorado Quinta do Feital Vinho Verde (Alvarinho Superior) 2005 Agostina Pieri Rosso (Sant'Antimo) 2004 Boglietti Barbera d'Alba Roscaleto Thank you, Jon Rimmerman Garagiste Seattle, WA Port6578 Italy4345 Italy4343
