October 22, 2022 - Very concentrated. Green apples. Nice bubbles. Very fresh, may be a little to fresh. Still very interesting and enjoyable.

October 20, 2022 - Champagne Bookclub (served blind)--Viet (Populaire--South Coast Plaze): Last time I had this wine was a year ago, and I liked it then, but last night when we had it blind (served next to its red fruited sibling, the LF 2014 Longues Voyes). Having both blind in contrast made for a cool discussion. The Autrefois is 100% Pinot Meunier and the Longue Voyes is 100% Pinot Noir, although the latter may be dosed a bit higher as it's listed at 4 grams while the former is listed on the back as 2-4 grams, for what it's worth. Both were disgorged in early 2018. The Autrefois has an old barrique aromatic, also floral. It's tangy, with citrusy lime, zesty red fruited with a creamy purity in the finish. Overall, I thought it was just gorgeous. As for the Longue Voyes, this is a more intense wine, with a an almond note and some bitterness which for me makes the wine even more interesting to drink. Spice cake, citrus peel and a cool stone fruit pit, kind of like the flesh of a nectarine where it touches the pit, that kind of flavor. Higher acid than the Autrefois too, yet the same deft touch of Aurelien Laherte as he gets the same creamy/mineral finish in both wines. I continue to feel a high regard for his wines and keep buying them, some into the cellar and some into the glass. One of my favorite producers now.

July 1, 2022 - Planned to drink this slowly over the week, but my daughter and I ended up killing the bottle by the second day it was so delicious.
Nose of honey and stone fruits, similar on the palate with perhaps some ripe apples and strawberries. This comes across sweeter than I expected for its low dosage but in a nice way. Also found this to be much better with some air time in the glass and warmer than I would normally drink my champagne. The texture just transformed into something luxurious!

May 3, 2022 - Feb 2018 disgorgement. Nicely aromatic. Citrus, pear and some strawberry. Gentle mousse and light brioche. Low dosage, clearing the way to focus on the flavors and bright acidity and minerality.

April 23, 2022 - DG2018. This comes from old Meuner vines planted in 1947 and 1964. Medium yellow. Very expressive and aromatic nose. Fruity and exuberant as only the best Meuiers can be. Red apples, lemon, orange peel and spice box. Aged but not oxidative. The 2014 freshness comes through in the palate. One of the top Meunier based Champagnes I had.
