March 29, 2024 - Jan ‘18 disgorgement. 100% Pinot Noir, 4gr/l dosage. apple, strawberry. A bit richer and more brioche than I was expecting, with nice acidity and minerals to balance.

January 11, 2024 - Consistent performance. Citrus. Hreat now with some more upside over the mid term. Disgorged 1/18. 93+

March 30, 2023 - It has been 14 months since I opened this bottling. This time around there was more depth and more of a dominant citrus profile, shedding what was a typical BdN profile. Really quite good. Enjoyable now, but I'm curious to see where this goes. 92-94.

March 30, 2023 - It has been couple years since I opened this last. This time around there was more depth and more of a dominant citrus profile, shedding quite a bit of what was a typical BdN profile. Really quite good. Enjoyable now, but I'm curious to see where this goes. 92-94.

October 20, 2022 - Champagne Bookclub (served blind)--Viet (Populaire--South Coast Plaze): Last time I had this wine was a year ago, and I liked it then, but last night when we had it blind (served next to its red fruited sibling, the LF 2014 Longues Voyes). Having both blind in contrast made for a cool discussion. The Autrefois is 100% Pinot Meunier and the Longue Voyes is 100% Pinot Noir, although the latter may be dosed a bit higher as it's listed at 4 grams while the former is listed on the back as 2-4 grams, for what it's worth. Both were disgorged in early 2018. The Autrefois has an old barrique aromatic, also floral. It's tangy, with citrusy lime, zesty red fruited with a creamy purity in the finish. Overall, I thought it was just gorgeous. As for the Longue Voyes, this is a more intense wine, with a an almond note and some bitterness which for me makes the wine even more interesting to drink. Spice cake, citrus peel and a cool stone fruit pit, kind of like the flesh of a nectarine where it touches the pit, that kind of flavor. Higher acid than the Autrefois too, yet the same deft touch of Aurelien Laherte as he gets the same creamy/mineral finish in both wines. I continue to feel a high regard for his wines and keep buying them, some into the cellar and some into the glass. One of my favorite producers now.
