Community Tasting Notes 1

February 24, 2009 - An unusual wine being almost 50/50 Vermentino and Chenin Blanc. The nose showed fruit and distinct oxidisation, but I pressed on as this may have been the style. The palate was rich and quite unctuous, but retained it's freshness, thanks to a decent acidity. Initially, the finish seemd surprisingly dry and short. After about an hour - and a little warmer - the oxidised notes seem to be have decreased and the finish seemed less clipped, like it has relaxed into itself: certainly better. Overall I quite liked it, but it was such a different style I didn't really know what to make of it.
