  My apologies in advance for the weird note. I am not quite sure what to make of my handwritten scribblings I took the day of: "smells like Trevi fountain spray" (???), "chalk," "green pear," "no brioche," "wink" "orchard" (my handwriting on this one is evidently illegible).

  April 17, 2024 - Wednesday Champagnes at Basanti: Picked this up to give it a try at home. Everyone else seemed to be bringing two bottles and this was cold. Nose of honey, apple sauce and pears. Light bodied with nice yeasty and chalky qualities. Certainly none of the power and body you want from a Champagne but a very nice sparkling wine in its own right. Strong value here.

  March 22, 2020 - Beautifully light limestone ridden zippy Chardonnay of apple core and the tiniest whiff of brioche. Salty, briny, great for pre-dinner snacking.

  September 10, 2019 - The best parts of sparkling wine are the fringes, the nuances. This is good base wine from which great wines can be built. Concentrated orchard fruit - apples and pear and all in balance. Not much to remember, not much to dispute.
