January 22, 2022 - The last time I had a wine like this, it was made by a producer called Dandelion that had a blend that was maybe 1-2% white grapes. This was 10% Roussanne and you could definitely tell it in the overall experience here. For being 17 years old, no one would have guessed it, and I'm impressed that this one was drinking so well with this balance! Claims to be 15%ABV.....suuuuuuure it is.... But, with a German sparkler on the table, a Japanese Chardonnay and an Italian Malvasia dessert wine, this one was in good company! This is an awesome wine to geek out on. Candy crush, cotton candy nose. Roasted blackberries and blueberries, cotton candy palate as well, but this also has notes of orange cranberry scone as there was a slight bitters note that tugged on the darker black fruit to bring this one more to the center as the wine sat on the palate. This wine is a mind freak wine. The finish is darker, roasted black fruit. As the wine finishes, there was some kind of pepper or spice....is this black pepper? Yeah..maybe(?). White pepper? Baking spice? Very unique finish here. Roundest tannins on the table. Higher acidity on the front and MELLOW finish. Really neat wine!!

November 4, 2020 - Lovely label, wine, mmnnn, judgement reserved on the wine. Seems to be on the downside....

February 11, 2017 - Pop and poured. Not surprisingly, color was inky. Nose was muted but started to give off some baked dark fruit, tar. Full bodied with tannins that have not been fully integrated. Good acidity to keep things fresh. Alcohol was kept in check. I think this has the stuffing to improve.

September 16, 2016 - From others' reviews I was expecting a thick & fragrant fruit bomb... but what we got was a solid, straight down the middle offering. The nose was actually rather muted, as were the fruit notes to start things off. But as the night wore on I got whiffs & tastes of dark fruit / pie. For the sub $30 price paid, this was a very good QPR ... but for the tariff that the masses plonked down, I wouldn't have thought so highly of it. Drink now or hold a few more years.
