  July 9, 2019 - Another fine vintage from Remhoogte. This chenin blanc comes in at 13.5% ABV, but you hardly notice it. In the glass, it is a beautiful medium straw yellow, and has perfect clarity. This chenin blanc really jumps out the glass with aromatics of light oak, floral notes, honeysuckle, pineapple, and apricots. The wine is dry with no noticeable sweetness, just a lot of fruit up front, but not overpowering. The body is medium-full, and has smooth acidity. A well-balanced wine between the acid and the fruit. The flavors are lime on the attack, with honey and apricot in the mid-palate, and key lime with some saline on the finish. The wine does tend to linger with a medium to long finish, which in this case you don't mind. This is another solid effort by Remhoogte. An excellent PQR for this SA chenin blanc, and with its flavorful fruity freshness it's a wine I'll be visiting again.
