Community Tasting Notes 1

July 25, 2015 - The winery claims this can be aged for 10-12 years, so I took a flier on a few bottles of these at a reasonable price. The cork was perfect. The color is light red with hints of a brown hue. Aromas are fairly dusty and old, like a dried up old book. There are some nice hints of fresh ripe raspberries hiding under there too, but you have to really seek them out.The palate is quite thin in body, showing more of those old book flavors but there is some fruit here too. Moderate acidity on the finish but it's here that the old book flavors just take over and become a little unpalatable. Granted, this does actually improve quite a bit over the hours from the initial pop and pour, but still, glad I opened the first one by myself and didn't embarrass myself by pouring this for friends. I doubt I'm going to be able to make my way through this whole bottle.
