August 26, 2022 - Easy drinking. Soft, easy on the gums. A hint of alcohol on the palate. Not sure this will live that long.

July 7, 2020 - {screwcap, 14.3%} Youthful ruby red. Bright young nose of plums, cherries, cranberries. Little oak. Smokier flavours on the palate, dark fruits but with a malty twist. Even though it’s rich, it’s not too sugary. Medium weight, more blackberry flavour as it sits in the glass. Medium acid. Low/medium dusty tannins. Medium length finish, not too sweet despite the ripeness. Super value at $25 or so, may age a while but it’s good enough now. Medium length finish; has enough Hunter savoury character to distinguish it from you average south Australian commercial Shiraz bottling, that’s for sure. Let it sit for five years without fear.

March 5, 2020 - {screwcap, 14.3%} Deep garnet/blue. Rich plum aromas, sweet oak, pastrami, delicatessen meat counters. Almost decadent after some time in the glass. Equally rich palate, with blue and black fruits, fine low/medium dusty tannins, lowish acidity, medium weight, and a medium length finish, perhaps a touch warm and sweet to suggest it’s one for the cellar in the longer term.

May 31, 2019 - Hunter Valley - 3 Cellar Doors (Hunter Valley): {screwcap, 14.3%, A$35} Smoke, tobacco and earth. Tobacco on the palate too, dark fruits, violets, very earthy, with medium acid and weight, medium dusty tannins, and a medium length, fairly even finish. Tidy wine which wants a bit of time. Pretty good value.
