  July 11, 2023 - Late night pop and pour at home with J. Drank in Grassl Cru.
  Appearance is clear, pale intensity, ruby colour. Legs.
  Nose is clean, medium+ intensity, with aromas of smokiness, fragrant incense, polished red cherries, hint of blackberries, some rose petal flowers. Developing.
  On the palate, dry, high acidity, medium alcohol (13.5%), medium tannins, medium body. Medium+ flavour intensity, with flavours of polished dark red cherries, blackberries, sweet spice, sweet smoked meat, fresh earth, velvet and slight sweet chocolate. Long elegant finish. A bit of confection feel with more air.
  Very good quality. Smoke and meat is in the mix, though this does not detract from the easy elegance of this wine. In a good early drinking window. Certainly can age too.

  March 26, 2023 - Light and elegant. Earth, tar, red berries, liquorice, spices. Broad on palate and flavourful but lacks finess.

  March 17, 2023 - Decanted for 2 hours. This is showing very young, but with excellent promise. Structured but silky and aromatic, this is showing beautiful notes of flowers, some cassis, dark cherries, blackberries, sweet spices, some smoke, dark chocolate, caramel, also some beautiful minerality. It‘s medium-full bodied, with excellent depth, there is some medium-high acidity and a long finish with plenty of character. This is a great wine and will only get better from here. (95+)

  January 29, 2022 - Light to medium body. Strawberries and stems on the nose, continuing into the taste and finish. Drinking a bit tight and as a result complexity is lacking. Chevillon’s 2017 NSG Les Cailles is drinking quite a bit better at the moment. Hopefully the Les St. George’s improves with time - I suspect it will. I have rated it for how it is currently drinking, not it’s potential future.
