April 27, 2023 - Double decanted back into bottle 1 hour before serving. In the glass, dark and opaque. Nose smell of cassis (which I love) and wood spice. Flavors cassis and blackcurrants. Solid tannins with a medium finish. Modest alcohol at 13.4% is a welcome in today's uber ripe Napa styled Cabernets.
Excellent Cabernet from the self proclaimed Merlot Maker and former neighbor of mine. -

March 10, 2023 - Opened and let air for an hour before consuming with Neapolitan takeout pizza. Good dark fruit with some subtle red currant notes, black licorice, herbs, and some whiffs of forest funk. Each year this tends to drink like a rustic, 'made in the woodshed', natural-style type of wine, and this vintage really highlights this style. Drink 2023-2030. Technical score: 91. Enjoyment score: 92.

December 30, 2019 - Even though it’s still very young, this is drinking well now. Licorice, bay leaves, soft tobacco, leather, dark fruits; moderately tannic. Should age well. Really great wine. Fair QPR at $39.99. Decant for at least 30 minutes.
