January 14, 2022 - 2019 Visit to Cromwell (Central Otago, NZ): Another expression of the warmer 2018 vintage. Sugar 14 gl/rs, alcohol 12% ABV, fermented in stainless steel. An attractive bouquet of limes, green apples, peaches and pears. On palate, an attractive style in good balance. Refreshing, direct acidity means the Riesling drinks drier than the residual sugar number suggests. Liked.

October 23, 2020 - Disclaimer: I like Valli Pinot Noir, but my experience with NZ Riesling is very limited. It may be too young and I may not understand it; may be comparing it to a false standard.
It was quite dry but full of ripe fruit with a vegetal character. It may be that I would like it much better after it settles down after 2-3 years.

October 12, 2019 - Blind Tasting (San Diego Wine Co.): WAY too cold

    “From clones 198-19 planted 2005 in limestone-based soils spread through river gravels; Harvested 4/14/18 @ 22° Brix, yielding 7 tons/ha; Fermented in s/s, 14° C peak temp; 12% ABV, 14.4 g/L R.S., 9.0 g/L T.A., & 2.94 pH; 3,792 bottles produced.”

N: Petrol on top of some funk, peaches sneaking in below

P: Med body; RNDISH entry with NICE, SWTISH frt (threshold R.S.) met by an almost puckerish acidity which stays in contact with the init frt with an intriguing tangy/swt dialectic as it fairly seamlessly evolves into a LONG, balanced, tangy/swt finish. Along the lines of a GER feinherb. Nicely done for now & through '22. My EXC-; 91 pts Decanter (Gibb, 11/28/18). [This vendor's $22.99 is $3 < wine-searcher's only current posting.]

August 29, 2019 - Lemon sherbert/curd. Such energy, sweet without being over the top. Lemon/lime. Exceptional length. Great mouth feel

June 16, 2019 - Understated nose as expected for a young wine, but the palate is already delicious. Crisp apple, lemons, slate. Grows broader the longer open. Perfect on a Hot day. Crisp clean and just a hint of sweetness
