February 23, 2021 - Ripe fruit notes of dark plum and cherry along with background vanillin oak. Rich in colour with deep red tints, due to the low yield and low juice-to-skin ratio. For this wine, mostly large format puncheons and a 3000L cask are used. Dry ripe tannins give perfect structure and carry the sweet fruit right to the back palate. An impressive wine, which is a great follow on from the 2014 vintage. Subtle but powerful.

February 23, 2021 - One of Australia’s icon wines, the vines 49yo. The decision not to use any new French oak, and to limit the alcohol to 13.5% has resulted in a wine with a unique sense of place. Balanced, dark fruits married to superfine tannins.

February 23, 2021 - a 2019 Decanter World Wine Awards ‘Best In Show’ trophy under its belt, vibrant red fruits, cherry and plum, lead into a medium bodied wine that elegantly holds its punches to deliver an experience that’s smooth, silky and long.

September 25, 2020 - Appearance: medium ruby with purple rim
Nose: pronounced intensity; aromas of cranberry, ripe strawberry, candied fruit, oak spice, cloves, rose petals. Youthful.
Palate: dry, high acidity, medium plus tannins ultra fine, medium plus alcohol, medium plus body, pronounced flavour intensity. Flavours are well defined as the nose. The finish is very long.
Overall, it’s an outstanding wine. Can drink now, but has decades ahead for further developing.
This is just a baby. On the nose, it is still predominantly fruit and floral notes with a lot of depth. On the palate, it’s very well balanced between the high acidity and fruit concentration. The tannins are so fine that you can easily slurp glass by glass at its youth. The flavour intensity is great and complex with the savoury tannins holding the middle palate and lingering. The length is just unbelievably long and definitely the highlight of this wine. Really impressive wine and looking forward to its development in the bottle.1 person found this helpful Comments (3) -

March 14, 2020 - Medium ruby core with purple rim. Initially restraint arome becomes intense with some swirling in glass.Notes of blackberry, bramble fruits, black olives, liquorice, white pepper, smoky, some leather and minerals all mingling with underlying oak sweet spices. Full body on the palate, here ultra elegant balance is achieved with its weightlessness , refreshingly high acidity and 13.5abv. Great tension holding the complex flavours on the mid palate resembeling its aromas. A long finish with added earthy and tarry tone. Excellent and elegant. Living up to the hype. 96+
