June 12, 2021 - Drinking very well. Excellent balance. Wonderful to drink outdoors on a beautiful evening.

March 27, 2019 - A big, dense, intense wine. Well it is drinkable now it still has room for improvement. This has been stored perfectly. 14% ABV.

September 25, 2014 - Drinking very nicely right now, I would say it's at its peak and will only start losing fruit moving forward. Lots of acidity, bright red fruit and sous-bois, with very fine tannins. Took a good 30 minutes in the glass to really open up - impeccably balanced.

April 18, 2014 - Still very enjoyable but time to start drinking up

February 10, 2014 - Remarkebly lively, still with good fruit and structure. Drink up, but showed better than we all expected

(DOMAINE DU CASTEL) #1; COLOR-profound; NOSE-classic Bordeaux, chalkiness; cellar dust; green components (Brussel sprouts); a little tangy blackberry jam; TASTE-this is the real deal; fruit is immense, mouthfeel is explosive; very rich; ridiculously silky on the palate; this is Top Notch; tannin structure & complexity to last 10-15 years; the finish is still going a minute and a half later; blind tats this against other 1st growth Bordeaux's; DR-94; GV-93
