March 20, 2020 - Certainly past the peak now. Fruit and tannins have faded and we are full tertiary, maybe a hint of black peppercorns on the finish. But saved by a nice mellow profile--this is easy drinking. Drink yesterday.

February 14, 2018 - When first opened this was all earthy & mushroom. Deep, lush fruit. After a few hours it disintegrated into strong VA with a mean green streak. A bit of a disappointment here.

July 25, 2014 - end of the line. fading fast but one can sense what was there

April 29, 2014 - This really surprised me: I wasn't expecting much as previous attempts at Carmenere were somewhat disappointing -- green and unrefined. But this one has much more depth, jammy, with vanilla, and a really soft and pleasant mouth feel and earthy throughout. The nose is the only thing that is still kind of off-putting... Wet gym bag? Spilled water in the trunk? Whatever, the taste makes up for it! Maybe time in the bottle is what Carmenere needs?

December 8, 2013 - Dark fruit with some burnt rubber added in. Interesting.

(CASA SILVA LOS LINGUES CARMENERE) #1; COLOR-dark; NOSE-beautiful mocha component, hint of your hands after catching Lightning Bugs; TASTE-tastes like it smells; beautiful minty, mocha/chocolate & ladybug aspect, the tannins are very sharp (& may bother some people); this is a young wine, but the complexity & richness are unparalleled for under $15, I'm really stunned by the overall complexity; enormous richness w/ a beautiful velvet, silky, Black Cherry finish; exceptional for under $15, very New World, let decant for an hour or 2; JM-91; GV-90
