Community Tasting Notes 10

November 17, 2022 - PnP, no decanting; perhaps that was a mistake. Color is deep ruby / garnet, nose is cherry with a hit of spices. On the palate, it's dry, medium+ body, soft tannins and decent acidity; there is some oak there, but not sure it's new. A simple wine, very drinkable, but nothing special.

November 24, 2021 - Good Earth and musk notes on the nose. Tannins and acid a bit high on the front palate, masks any fruit notes. Tart cherry mid palate, short finish. Hoping that it lengthens with time.

August 16, 2021 - from Jacks House, there are far better Beaujolais than this. Next...

March 1, 2021 - Very simple. Too extracted. Did not say Bojo to me. Could have been anything.

February 5, 2021 - The aroma of dark berries, strawberry and blackcurrant was immediate on pouring into the glass.a deep mysterious crimson colour promised a rich and full flavour but also a hint of peony to the meniscus suggesting this wine is still developing and may have a few more years in it before its best.
The wine clings to the glass and shows long slow legs. Again on the nose is dark fruit and morello cherry and a hint of strawberry amongst pencil shavings.
The initial attack is blueberry, sour cherries and graphite. The slight astringency of the still young tanins is well balanced with acidity and offers a nice finish albeit one which doesn't seem to linger too long.
So would I buy it again? Yes it was a nice wine and offered up something which was both classic from the region and of the varietal gamay. I think aging it a little longer will benefit the wine and soften and enhance the potential complexities that I feel exist and are a little bit locked away!
