September 9, 2023 - Concentrated deep, dark ripe black and red fruit. Soft mouthfeel. Supple tannis. Just starting to show sediments. In the drinking window now, but I’d wait another couple of years to soften the fruit even further.

August 31, 2023 - Wow this was an amazing SMD. Could use a couple of years yet, but with longer decant it tastes amazing

June 15, 2023 - Pretty beastly right out of the bottle, so needs a serious decant. Opens up nicely and shows youth, but also has developed some secondary flavors and some sediment. Dark and concentrated. Will be interesting to see how gracefully the fruit and tannins evolve together ... or not. In the drinking window, but barely.

October 31, 2022 - 2016 Robert Craig Cabernet Sauvignon Spring Mountain District

An area of aromas, graphite/pencil, flowers, vanilla

A big beautiful full bodied Cabernet, notes of dark berries and black cherries, and went well with Halloween pizza, but was requesting a good side of beef. The finish was pleasurably smooth,

    cheers!

August 27, 2022 - This bottle was singing after 2.5 hours in the decanter. Beautiful ruby color. Heavenly scent. Plums, bing cherries, cassis. The touch of acid was perfect with beef tenderloin on a late-summer evening. The 2016 Napas and Sonomas are wonderful things indeed.
