March 7, 2019 - Deep ruby red in appearance. Plush and rich to start on the nose with blackberries, cherries, plums, cinnamon and baking spices. Medium tannins (6/10) with quite a bit of acidity and medium plus to full bodied. Needs a bit of air to open up with notes of baking spices, plums, black fruits, currants and minerality. Long finish. Drink till 2028.

February 5, 2019 - Consistent with the ‘15 I had a year ago. Very plush and accessible. Soft, bruised and ripe fruits. Plums, tobacco, and even some coconut on the nose. Rich baked berry pie notes on the palate with toasted oak, chocolate and a streak of black cherry down the middle. Grant Long Jr is the winemaker for Jack and while this is nice, I enjoy Grant’s work more under his personal label, Aonair. That being said, Jack has a Cab that is very good as well as a few exciting things in the pipeline. Their tasting area on Atlas Peak is stunning.
