October 1, 2023 - Opened in Hong Kong. Slow-oxed for a while before being served blind.

Upon first taste, this completely fooled me, and I guessed Gevrey '17, as the nose was dominated by dark fruits and meatiness. However, over time, more red fruits and freshness started coming to the fore, pointing further south.

The Vosne spice is there, but masked quite well by the palate. Don't be fooled by the village classification, and Rouget's lack of stems - this is a serious and structured wine, and demands attention and air. The oak is not quite fully integrated yet in my opinion, but that doesn't take away from the experience.

This is a balanced wine, but it's tight, and would benefit with a few more years in the cellar. Clear upside from my perspective, and can't wait to see how this performs in 3+ years time, even though it will definitely continue to mature for much longer than that.

April 8, 2023 - More breathing time thus more polished than the last bottle, floral, red fruit, oaky still. Day three displays exuberant cherry fruit, vanilla, green berry and Vosne spice, meaty, woody, deep. Great acidity and composure on the finish. 93+

April 8, 2023 - Tasted with JC and RT. Slightly overripe. While extremely polished, still backward and dominated by oak. Hold for many more years before drinking.

July 8, 2022 - More perfumed than the pair Cathiard, an atomic level of opulent red fruit aromatics. Light, if even watery, weight. 91-92
