November 2, 2013 - From a nice looking bottle purchased on release, this wine had a yellow center and clear rims. The nose was pretty good right away but certainly developed with air. It showed citrus, honeysuckle, vanilla, and some white stone.

Not surprisingly, this wine required several hours on full air to show its best. It had that classic Niellon style that features a light refined mouth feel that is at the same time ripe and flavorful. It had nice acidity and very good finish (they got better and better with air).

While this wine is drinkable, it would certainly benefit from additional cellaring. However, it is unclear to me how much better it might get.

August 4, 2013 - From a great looking bottle that was purchased on release, this wine had a medium yellow center and light yellow rims. The nose was quite restrained at first and it took 3+ hours for things to blossom.

The nose was quite tight and citrus oriented at first. Overtime, it developed a refined but complicated melange of almond paste, lemon, apricot, and baguette. Overall, this was a lovely light wine with powerful flavor persistence.

While nice now, my guess is that this will be even better in 5-10 years. It was still a touch tight during this showing. An excellent wine.

April 20, 2012 - Boomshakalaka...Great nose of toasted walnuts, lemon rind, and banana oil. Rich, oily entry with nice oaky citrus and walnut shavings. The finish has a great acidic bite that fades into woody nuts and caramel. This is what a nice aged burgundy can taste like if it ain't oxidized. And you know what, this guy likes it.

October 22, 2009 - Drank a case throughout the year of 2009. A really well crafted, mature white burgundy with citrus and steely elements wonderfully woven together by a talented winemaker.
