February 5, 2023 - Great fruit driven Syrah.

June 15, 2021 - Very nice syrah with energy and good dark fruit. Lots of good stuff going on. Some age might make it even better. Suffered a bit in retrospect being consumed between wonderful 2001 DR Stephens Moose Valley and a 2016 Familiar Air Cab.

August 18, 2020 - A year since my last bottle this wine has come together and bumped it up a notch. Super jammy with blackberry, dark cherries, picking up the menthol and licorice on the finish as well as the iron backbone keeping it from being an over the top jam monster. Crazy good value. Will have to try one of the whole clusters next.

January 26, 2020 - Perhaps not overly complex, but not just a big fruit in your face cali Syrah either. Lovely nose of violets, savory and fruit, pure black fruits on the palate. I did not notice the alcohol which means it was probably well balanced! Drinking surprisingly well in its youth.

August 25, 2019 - Was hesitant to open one of these '17s because I only had 2, or so I thought. Decided to pop one based on other's reviews and discovered I actually have 4 in the cellar. Lucky me!

This is a nice, not overly complex Syrah. Aromas of dark fruits, flowers and iron. Very tasty, Blackberry and cherry, though not tart at all, a bit of iron grip, and a fairly long white peppery finish. The clean pepper finish is what pushed this wine into the low 90s for me.
