Community Tasting Notes 4

May 5, 2023 - Still very good. Great round merlot mouth feel. This was the last of 6 bottles purchased around release.

December 6, 2020 - Well, definitely over the hill. Nice bouquet when first opened, but evaporated within a few minutes being replaced by a slightly musty nose. Some initial notes of currents and blackberries, followed by a predominantly vegtal note. I sense a wonderful wine in there somewhere, but i think it left the bottle a couple of years ago. Bought at auction so i dont know storage conditions before purchase. Your results may vary, but I'd drink any you have soon

February 21, 2010 - Definitive Bordeaux (Mirabelle Restaurant Austin, Texas): The least favorite of an older Bordeaux flight, the wine was likely over the hill. It was very good out of the bottle and went down quickly, single dimensional, light, green, fading, smelling better than it tasted. A stewed tomato and vegetable palate, it went unbalanced and weak after a great start.

March 28, 1986 - Dark ruby with a brown edge. Complex bouquet with fruit and a lot of good oak. In the complex taste cassis, liquorice, iron, good tannin; soft as well as some sticky, and good acidity. Very long and creamy aftertaste. Great wine which is in a perfect drinking stage now, but it will probably stay on the same level for some years.
