March 31, 2023 - Drank over the two days. On the first day, the wine had quite harsh tannins and astringent acidity. However, on the next day, the remaining half was a completely different wine. Sharp edges mellowed and enjoyment was immense. Here the question arises of how the Decanter magazine could set the drinking window until 2024. In my understanding and from my experience the wine is not ready and should greatly improve by cellaring for 5 or even more years.

February 27, 2022 - Very good Chateauneuf du Pape. More on the fruit than on the spice.

February 23, 2021 - This is rich and creamy and a bit too thickly-textured for my liking for CDP. Perhaps time will help it calm down a bit and there are lovely flavors underneath of Garrigue spices, lilacs and violets. The finish is taut with plenty of mineral-laden grip and some heat from the high alcohol level. We’ll see but it’s not going in my cellar. 88?

January 2, 2021 - Wonderfully lush velvet-like texture and oozing fruit but maintains balance. Loads of "sweet" dark cherry, plum, licorice. More minerality than acid on the palate, lovely.

December 27, 2019 - The 2017 'Boisrenard' is yet another absolutely sensational release of this cuvée from the Coulon Family. It is composed of 66% Grenache along with 12% both Syrah and Mourvèdre withs he remainder consisting of other permitted varieties. As it begins to unwind in the glass it offers stunning aromatics of ripe blackberries and dark cherries which are woven together with exotic spices, espresso, smoke, licorice, graphite and minerals all taking shape. On the palate this possesses a gorgeous polished texture and shows wonderful overall balance, depth and concentration leading up to the gorgeous finish. While this displays plenty of upfront appeal now, there is no doubt it will go on to age gracefully for many years to come.
