July 8, 2023 - 1st of 4 bottles purchased at the winery upon release.
Decanted and consumed over a 6+ hour period of time.
A beautiful Sangio, just entering into a great drinking window.
Rose petals, clove, red berries, melting rubber, anise.
The structure is quite evident on the palate, with loads of character, and quite stringent tannins.
Bright acidity to remind us that we are drinking Sangiovese, leading into a leathery, tobacco and red fruited finish.
    Drink through 2028 or so.

    January 25, 2021 - A dull deep ruby color.
On the nose there are scents of leather, tobacco, red current and spring rain
On the palate, this is fruit forward wine with flavors of dried rose petals, red cherries and strawberry. It has a full body with med+ acidity, Med+ tannins. The tannins are still a little strong. The finish is short with all of the flavors up front.
This wine should rest for a few more years in the cellar, but this wine is not as age-worthy as the 2014 Uccelliera.

December 15, 2020 - Good>Very good; best after 90 minutes open. Garnet>Ruby with no sign of age; clear and bright. Initial aromas are of sawdust, soil, new leather, and after some coaxing in the glass, really pretty red fruits. Fresh, and elegant on the med+ bodied palate, with very fine tannins, and plenty of fresh acidity to keep this in a good drinking window thru the decade, perhaps even longer. I've seen a few in the marketplace at $40 or less, and I have to say it's worth every penny under $50. 14,5% abv., natural cork. Considering the high quality despite the challenging vintage, it's highly recommended

November 25, 2020 - Aerated to decanter ~ 90 minutes; seemed fully open at that point. Red/dark red fruits, plenty of new leather, some strawberry, and lots of Tuscan dust. Elegant med/med+ bodied palate, with good+ complexity and length. Certainly for the shorter term, but clearly not falling apart anytime soon, either. Really enjoyable, and a great food wine, as well. recommended

October 19, 2019 - Aroma: balsam and pine needles, lavender, medicinal cherry, leather.
Palate: sweet and nutty cherry flavors with meaty notes. Low to moderate acidity. Fine tannin. Moderate complexity.
