April 29, 2024 - There is a lot going on, flavor wise; in fact, although it does go well with food, I found it more enjoyable to sip and savor by itself. Agreeable strawberry/raspberry nose with a variety of flavors that change from sip to sip. Tangy backbone with cherry, Indian (not curry) spices, strawberry and a pleasant, almost bitter orange lengthy finish. Very worthwhile experience

March 19, 2024 - The red color and fruity nose are deceiving about its dark, earthy palate. I tasted it immediately after opening, and it was very fruit-forward with a dash of alcohol. After sitting open for over an hour, the wine evolved and came together to show its earthy dark fruits combined with tobacco and spice. This wine is in a very good place currently.

January 21, 2024 - Interesting how this wine has progressed. Last bottle was in 2020. It has taken on a smoke note. Something I have not seen in CA Grenache before, but it also contains some co fermentated Mourvèdre. I have had southern Rhône versions with tobacco, but the note doesn’t resemble that flavor.

Personally I think these drank better young, but it’s still an enjoyable wine.

December 21, 2022 - Translucent cherry red color. Pleasant nose of cherry and strawberry. Light and lively on the palate, cherries, raspberries, hint of anise. Precise tannins, lovely acidity, excellent balance. Finishes moderately long with dusty cherry notes. Drink next 3 to 5 years. Nothing profound here but fun to drink and paired well with food. No need to wait.
