April 1, 2021 - This initially threw some big, inky-ripe aromas that I found rather frightening. To my relief, with just a few minutes in a decanter I began to recognize some more correct varietal aromas that wouldn't be terribly out of place in say, a (very) ripe vintage of Baudry Croix Boisses.
This is likely too young to fairly evaluate, but I personally didn't it to be as special as Cathy's appellation cabernet, particularly in 2016. That might be on me, as I've frankly (haha) never tasted a California cabernet franc with anything on the best from France; the varietal character just seems to get obliterated in our sunny climate. -

March 26, 2020 - Fragrant strawberry aroma with an edge of barnyard, a promise of chocolate and vanilla, and a hint of oregano and cumin. Wide and weighty on the palate, pure dark fruit with a charge of tannin, aromatic after note in the singing finish. Colorful, quirky, rich, and dynamic.
