April 5, 2024 - rich and full, aroma of baked cherry pie, taste sweet upon entry with some pepper and spice, big but balanced

January 19, 2021 - Château Fortia's 2017 Châteauneuf-du-Pape Cuvée du Baron is a deep ruby blend of 50% Grenache, 35% Syrah and 15% Mourvèdre. This newly-purchased bottle was Vinturi-decanted and serially sampled over the ensuing three hours. The aromas and flavors open after the first hour, revealing an attractive array of red bramble fruits, cassis, garrigue, licorice and graphite. Medium-bodied, freshly acidic, softly oaked and with silky tannins, it stays solid on the mid-palate and hides its 15.5% alcohol nicely when served at 60-65°F. Medium-to-long and smooth on the back end, this is a delightful red that will provide continuous pleasure in its evolution throughout the decade. Drink now-2030.

January 3, 2021 - Early but still good - pnp
Nose - rich stewed fruits, chocolate, cooking spices. faint tobacco
Palate - opens with bright black fruits (mostly black cherry) and finishes with dehydrated orange. Let it sit for a few years to enjoy a more supple velvet or enjoy in robustness now.

Had this bottle to answer - do I like CdP still? Why yes I do

December 13, 2019 - Still in love with this wine, still delicious and still something I would recommend. Having all ready tasted the 2015 and 2016 vintage, I can clearly recognize the same flavor profile of this particular vintage compared the vintages prior. I won't go too much into the nose and taste of this 2017 vintage - I would just be repeating myself since they are pretty much the same. I personally won't recommend buying this vintage - especially not if you can get your hands on the 15/16 vintage
