January 7, 2023 - Berry. Leather a bit of pepper smooth tannins. Bargain wine.

  • Lyndon.king Likes this wine: 94 points

May 7, 2022 - Thoroughly enjoyable wine. Compared to Hartenberg 2016 Shiraz. This was smoother and comparable

    November 30, 2020 - P&P, decanted for 20 minutes
Aromas of tobacco, smoke, black fruits (probably black cherry), leather
Ripe black fruits on the palate with a slightly bitter finish
    Medium+ silky smooth tannins
    Juicy acidity
    Elegant, rather than heavy
    Very good to excellent length
This is drinking well now, and I worry that further ageing will kill the little fruit that remains on the nose (although it’s still quite fruity in the palate); however I’m going to try to age my remaining bottle for another 5 years as an experiment to see how it develops

October 2, 2019 - First time visiting Kleinood and trying out their wines. Truly a hidden gem right across the street from Waterford. Last of the two reds was their 2015 Syrah which has 4% Mourvedre and 1% Viognier. Deep purplish ruby red. Savory attack on the nose with some dried meats followed up by violets and black cherries. Medium plus tannins (7/10) with a full body. Light floral notes on the palate with blackberries and black cherries. A touch of gravel in the long finish. Drink till 2029.
