Community Tasting Notes 3

May 16, 2011 - Kermit Lynch French Wine Private Tasting Closeout (DEPs): The Clos St Magdeleine is a transparent burnished gold with a nose that is floral and green apple. Soft in the mouth with green apple, finishes with medium length and more green apple. Too much acidity here, overwhelms everything. Otherwise would be very nice.

June 23, 2008 - 45% marsanne, 25% clairette, 25% ugni blanc, 5% sauvignon, éraflage, pressurage pneumatique doux, débourbage, fermentation thermorégulée à 20°C, malolactique systématique pour donner une complexité au vin, élevage de 12 à 24 mois, embouteillage suivant demande.
Pale straw, great fresh nose and a lot going on: apricot, peach, white flowers, licorice, anis and fennel. Med body, med acidity: it is lively and round at the same time: a pleasure to drink. Serious Cassis. Some fruits on the palate and a long finish on licorice notes and mineral.
Overall a complex and very enjoyable wine, perfect for summer provencal dishes. Make sure you don't drink it too cold.
    Drink now to 2010.
