March 16, 2024 - This wine showed brilliantly and lived up to the hype. It surprised some at how clearly it presented as chenin, given these wines can have quite a Burgundian style - I think the typicity has come to show more with age. The flavors were very nice but for me this was really a study in the magic of texture - the balance between weight and electricity was absolutely magical; the waxy density filled the mouth while also being pierced through the middle with an arrow of acidity. Notes of honeyed orchard fruit, poached pear, preserved lemon, white flowers, and white/green tea. I don't know how long these wines CAN age (I suspect plenty longer), but at this point it was in a fantastic spot and really rewarded cellaring.

July 23, 2023 - Slightly less vibrant than bottles last year, this is lacking a touch of fruit to balance out its tension and minerality. Still a really good bottle of wine though.

    April 8, 2023 - Robe jaune soleil d'intensité moyenne

December 29, 2022 - This wine is gorgeous and in a great spot. Excellent aromatics, texture, and balance. It's certainly filled out with age and drinks with the weight of chenin (lanolin); the acidity is still sharp but instead of a lightning bolt on first impact it's zinging on the back of the tongue. Fruit profile is a mix of citrus (lemon/lime, zest) and orchard (green apple, pear). This can definitely age a bit more but doesn't really need much more time.
