January 10, 2022 - Very impressive CSJ with rich, near Grand Cru concentration of meat and spice-filled black cherry. Round, lush and engaging fruit that is well balanced with lots of nuance and length.

January 10, 2022 - Burgundy Dinner with Friends (RPM Seafood - Chicago IL): In mid-aged CSJ flight. Classically Gevrey with so much black fruit and meat, this was very lush for the vintage (I might have thought 2002 if served blind) with very good density and balance. Very harmonious and balanced all evening.

April 24, 2016 - Dark ruby. Nose of black raspberry, spicy oak, anise, licorice, violets, earth, stone. Dark and rich on the palate, with raspberry, black cherry, and plum in sleek layers accompanied by glossy spice and oak. Moderate acidity and strong tannin leading to a long finish of iron, dark plum, toasty notes, and earth. Not my cup of tea necessarily but very impressive for its power and intense, dark flavors somehow inhabiting a lithe frame. Will undoubtedly develop until at least 2021.

April 9, 2016 - Very solid and felt like its getting to its peak.
Darker fruits, light smoky feel, light meaty at times. Good earthy notes too but really a complete and in balance wine, medium bodies, silky soft tannin but with good depth. Very nice. 93

June 13, 2013 - Agree completely with Papies. Just beginning to enter the drinking window. Lots of energy, could become very fine.
