Community Tasting Notes 4

May 23, 2019 - White Oak churns out some pretty good wines but this did not impress. It's plummy, linear, and tart, with spiky, cranberry-like acidity, shriveled fruit sweetness, and a whiffs of premature oxidation and ripeness.

May 18, 2019 - This came across as sweet a bit tart and pruned. Don't know what happened here but a disappointment to say the least.

April 3, 2019 - Very good zin. I've been tasting from the same bottle for 27 days. It had held up remarkably well. Picked it up at Grocery Outlet at the end of their wine tasting.

No heat, pure flavors, medium finish.

Try to find some at Grocery Outlets, though it's likely sold out.
The winery has bottles for $30. Here's their tasting notes:
"A bold Zinfandel exhibiting aromatics of currant, black olive, plum, graphite, and a slight smokiness. Full bodied with a pleasant balance of acid and fruit. Flavors of dried cranberry, currant, plum, and green tea, with hints of vanilla and anise. A finish of medium length reveals candied plum, nutty oak, as well as more vanilla and anise. Pairs perfectly with a creamy cow’s milk cheese or any form of barbecue."

March 12, 2019 - Let this breathe or use an aerator. This tastes of leather, dark fruit, and baked blackberry pie, with clove in the finish. As all Zins this has a little chocolate and currant, but missing the normal nasty raisin Most zins have. Quite enjoyable.
