  September 9, 2020 - Pure fire. This is the wine that taught me to truly love California Chardonnay many years ago (it was the '01, I think). A teenage Thieriot firing on all cylinders, here with intense salted black truffle jus nose, Kalamata olive and sweet decay on the palate, bit of lime curd peaking through. Exceptional with roasted halibut, pattypan squash and sungold tomatoes. One more 750 and can only hope it's this good...will try and hold my magnums at least another decade.

  August 16, 2017 - Color is light gold. A fat, lard-like element on the nose, along with some preserved meyer lemon, some faint astringent herbs and honeycomb candy. On the palate, quite broad and oaky. Almost felt like adding a squeeze of citrus to liven things up. Needs food w/o a hint of acid b/c it lacks it -- a cheesy potato gratin worked well. I've had some excellent chardonnays from Littorai with some age (mostly Mays Canyon and Tributary) but this isn't one of them. Drink up if you have any left.

  May 12, 2017 - Found this orphan in the back of the cellar. OTH. Was hopeful with the pleasant yellow color with no sign of browning, the nose is nutty, sugary, and charred. Thick mouthfeel, a bit sweet, and lacking in verve. Still some lemon flavor I remember from younger bottles, more of a curd than a zest.

  November 29, 2015 - Past it's prime. Not completely gone, but there is only a hint of what i imagine was a great wine 5 years ago. Now it's mostly nutty, oaky, flat. I had a 2005 meursault not long ago that was identical to this. Oh well. I need to drink my chard sooner. I will add I'm a bit surprised due to the winemaker and the vineyard, which are both some of the best in the states. I bought this on auction. Maybe storage wasn't perfect.

  July 30, 2015 - For my taste, still showing a heavy oak influence on the nose and palate. Body is much thicker than I would expect from the producer. In addition to oak, there is orange and spice flavors. Finish is a little bitter. Hopefully air will help. TN is PnP.
