Not sure it was worth $185, but tasty nonetheless

December 25, 2021 - Notes of lavender, crushed rock, iron and blackberry with complex flavors of black cherry, plum, some spice and mocha. Gorgeous wine from the very first sip.

    April 2, 2021 - NEW WINERY
We are blown away by the amazing wines we have been fortunate enough to be able to taste (yes we realize how lucky we are and it has not been lost on us) already on this trip and realized we need to focus going forward on how the wines compete, maybe wrong word but compare quality, enjoyment (a wine can be high quality but not my profile or choice it that makes sense - exp I am not a big eucalyptus fan and as wines age some take on a hint while others become a prominent note), drinking window (can I enjoy over time or will I need to chug out in a year or two) and the QPR against the others. This might be unfair going forward but we are all humans and reality is there is not a fair playing field. We all bought the wines we enjoyed but they may not have had a fair shot but they are doing great things and ‘18 wines should be stellar.

This was the first wine following a glass of 2010 DP from the property. The wine is already accessible and the first moon mountain I have had. It’s a nice wine but can it stack up against its Napa brothers and sisters served alongside it and be offered for sale at the same price point? Maybe but perhaps the pricing strategy might be re-worked to more accurately reflect the pedigree? I have zero basis for this statement but at $200 I would prefer to put that towards another vineyard - is that due to more well known high priced wines- no I just fawned over MG (wild turkey) vineyard that I have never had or heard of 2 hours before. Nice wine, would enjoy drinking but not at this price point with other wines available from Brion or elsewhere.
