April 6, 2024 - Another Wine gathering at RJ’s; 4/4/2024-4/7/2024 (Palmetto Bluff, South Carolina): Expressive nose displaying concentrated rich black fruit, blackberry, blackberry tart, licorice, dark spices and earth. Exceptional concentration, layers upon layers of concentrated black fruit, rich and deeply toned, bright acidity, earthy mineral, and a long concentrated black fruit driven finish. This is a big scale wine that needs more time. With air, the fruit becomes purer and more expressive.

February 29, 2024 - Incredibly fragrant nose with flowers, some oak, red fruit, strawberry, and earth notes. Good acidity with more strawberries and cherries, a hint of vanilla, and good but not overbearing tannic structure. Long finish. A privilege to taste and a beautiful wine, despite it being quite oaky at this stage. I do feel that there is enough fruit to stand up to the oak, but it does feel like it needs quite a bit more time. 94-95+

December 27, 2023 - Light ruby color, delicate smoke aroma at first, very floral and feminine, maraschino cherry, evolving to subtle anise, sandalwood, nougat, and cherry cough drop. Light as a feather but with a pronounced, sappy finish suggesting cherry, fraises des bois, and bubblegum. Layers and layers of flavors develop as the wine opens up. 1.5 hours to fully express itself. Loads of underlying extract foretell a long road ahead. Like a ballerina dancing effortlessly...

December 3, 2021 - Haunting, floral aromatics, evolves into some orange peel. Dark cherry palate with unending length.

January 17, 2020 - During a Paulee dinner, so only brief impressions. Big brooding, closed wine, dark fruit, earthy. Hmm, how long do you have to age this monster? I would not open this before it has 20-25 years of bottle age.
