February 9, 2024 - This was drunk earlier tonight with friends at a restaurant. We drank it along side an '88 La Conseillante. Being adjoining properties which also adjoin Petrus, both wines were similar, but we liked the La Conseillante better. This has the olive, plum and violet components typical of Pomerol. With 35 years of age this wine was in its prime. There were no rough edges and the body was full. The consistency is velvety and the complexity was ethereal. It's been a while since I've drunk a Bordeaux this good. However, I'm giving this wine 2 points less than the La Conseillante and most of that comes because of the better finish and complexity of the La Conseillante.

October 25, 2023 - Glorious. On the nose: brown sugar, smoke, cedar, loads of earth. With a bit of air, soft menthol, and dried raspberry. On the palate: lovely acidity, totally attenuated tannin. If this btl is representative, then this has peaked. Not sure if it is already starting to decline, because I can't say too much about provenance (auction purchase).

January 21, 2018 - Birth Year - Themed wine dinner: 1 hour decant, followed for 3 hours.
Another 'workhorse' wine.. solid, tasty, just a really well made wine, with excellent depth. Overshadowed a little but man it's tasty.
Day 2 - intoxicating nose. WOW. just amazing.

September 23, 2015 - Excellent cork, colour is red and rim is small. At nose it gives off spice like pepper, and also a bit of chocolate. On palate the wine is a bit alcoholic, no tannin left, tastes spicy and a bit green, fruit is not significant, acidity is obvious. Finish is rather short. This wine should have passed its peak and should be drunk as soon as possible.
