June 3, 2016 - Very nice Shiraz. Not quite mature yet but very drinkable.

August 10, 2013 - CT Seattle Offline II (Amaroso Room @ Bellevue Wine Storage): Still too early to really be drinking this. We decanted a few hours before the event, but would have liked to see it with some more time. Still got heat on the nose. Raspberry jam balanced by some stiffer tannins. Tasted very young despite the 2002 year. It was our 2nd place finisher in the flight, but came in 6 of 6 for the broader group.

February 28, 2013 - Perfect cork. Oldest wine so far to give me voodoo-teeth. Wife and I dressed up for the grand violin concert and in the middle of the ocean-like dream-sequence, this banjo guy comes in on stage. Obviously with a severe case of Aspberger's Syndrome. And the less we like his banjo, the more intensely he plays... The banjo guy is of course the acids in this wine. Completely out of line. Destroys a 95+ points wine...
    *sigh*
It's rare high quality wines disappoint me this much...
    QPR extremely low.
    Meh.
But still a great wine, bit could have been so much greater.
Decanted 90 min. Had at April 13 (Tokyo).

April 2, 2011 - Big and brooding but still a very balanced wine. Lots of everything going on here - dark fruits, oak, alcohol etc but somehow it pulls it off. Bordering on being a little over the top for my palate but I think it just makes it. Rich red fruits flood the palate with smokey bacon, tar, spice and very ripe plums. The fruit is still quite primary and doesn't feel like it is about to fall over any time soon. Nice wine but probably not in my style any more.

March 12, 2011 - Would have been better with a couple of hours in the decanter.....Shame it was my last one!
