Community Tasting Notes 11

December 19, 2022 - Day 1: This is very nice. Vibrant wine and has held up well over the years. Minerals, dust, spice, mild honey, apricot, white flowers and chalk. A wonderful effort and another great Davenport wine! 92 points
Day 2: Even better. This has plenty of life left. Apricots, honey, dust, minerals, floral, pear, white flowers and spice. Complex and medium plus finish. Nice acidity. A well-made effort indeed. 93 points
Day 3: Wow again. Just a beautiful wine and probably the best white I have tasted from Washington. Chalk, minerals, spice, tropical fruit, honey suckles, apricot, stone, white flowers and crushed rock. This is super complex and even longer finish on day 3. I thought this would be toast but just made it into my top wines of the year under $30 category. 94 points
Recommendation: You can cellar this another 5 plus years.

January 9, 2022 - Consumed over 1+ weeks, with the last glass being the best. Really zippy acidity begs for food. Successfully paired with Indian, Mexican and Thai. Lots going on with this wine, with citrus and grilled pineapple, with other notes intermingled. Would be fascinating to follow this over the years that this has ahead of it. Thank you, Slye, for generously sharing a bottle from your stash!

January 22, 2021 - This is definitely my favorite white wine at the moment. Days after opening it still has strong notes of tropical fruits, lanolin, and just a lovely weight. Really extraordinary. I have to resist drinking these early but that is proving to be very hard!

    August 15, 2020 - Over a couple of days.

Acidity is coiled within smokey lemon fruit. Has that semillon stoniness that will last for years. Will have to try beside a Hunter semillon

June 20, 2020 - So I really think this is the best, most intriguing, white wine I have had. Forget the qpr, which makes this ridiculous This is very tight and collected. Lots of stone, tart citrus, and lanolin on the nose and palate. Bracing acidity -- and a finish that just goes on forever. This is amazing young. Very curious to see how it is in 10, 20, or more years.
