December 19, 2020 - Bad wine, smells like methylated spirits

August 28, 2020 - Same rating as my last bottle 18 months ago. I wrote very detailed notes then, and they all still apply. I’ll add two things: it has not lived up to expectations so far, but I sense that there is a much better wine lurking below the surface here. If I had any left in the cellar I would keep them until 2025+ in the hopes that the long-awaited Burgundy-style Cahors will emerge.

June 8, 2020 - (6/8/20) I exchanged another bottle of this for this one because it smelled of rotten eggs upon opening. This one did, too. I planned to return it, so I stuck the cork back in and put it in the fridge and forgot about it for a week or so. For the hell of it, I tasted it tonight, and, voila! It’s fine. It doesn’t even taste like it’s been open a week! This was not a big wine, and the nose was very subdued, but it had a nice floral and dark fruit thing going on. It was well balanced and pleasant and serviceable, if not exciting, and the low abv was refreshing in a world where everything seems to be laced with jet fuel; 12.5% abv. (**/14.5/87)

October 5, 2019 - Russk. P1 natural wine tasting. One of my top two Reds. I bought a bottle. A pretty like touch for Malbec and Cahors. A touch of friendly funk. $23.
