December 26, 2021 - Always a good pop and pour. Had with antipasto. Perfect.

April 11, 2021 - Such a great, easy to drink wine at a very reasonable cost. Good fruit, but plenty of acid and structure. I would agree with the CT drinking window of 2021-2026.

March 28, 2021 - A super Tuscan for the California Cabernet crowd. Ripe blackberries dominate this wine; backed up by baking spices, tobacco, new leather and dried herbs. Full bodied with smooth elegant tannins and a nice long finish. At the very end of the palate, there is a hint of bitterness that reminds you that you are still in Italy.

If you like CA Cabernet and want to drink Italian, you have found your new favorite.

March 13, 2021 - Guado al Tasso's 2017 Il Bruciato is a Cabernet Sauvignon-dominant blend that also includes aliquots of Merlot and Syrah. This particular bottle was splash-decanted and serially tasted over the ensuing three hours, reaching a nice equilibrium after the first 90 minutes. Deep-to-opaque crimson, it delivers black plums, boysenberries, bramble leaves, licorice and Asian spices on both the nose and palate. Medium-bodied, judiciously oaked and with well-integrated alcohol (14%), it somehow retains a nice degree of freshness that is necessary to balance the ripe fruit from this hot vintage. Dense on the mid-palate and medium-to-long on the back end, this performs well above its pay grade and is an impressive achievement when considering the difficulties of the vintage. Drink now-2025.
