Community Tasting Notes 7

January 14, 2023 - Hasn't really budged... still quite primary, such gorgeous fruit and only subtle Cab Franc veggie and leafy character. Elegant, fresh, aromatic and lifted....

Aromas of sweet blackberry sorbet, raspberry, and dark cherry, plus myriad subtle non-fruit notes includong sweet tobacco, graphite, cherry stone, white flowers, licorice, rosemary, thyme, allspice, blood orange, roasted red peppers, and a wisp of cracked peppercorns as well. On the palate this is medium to full-bodied, juicy upfront, with beautiful fruit intensity through the finish, and a delicate herbal/spicy inner perfume. Plenty of fine tannin and a buried but strong acid line, there's a balance of structure and fruit to support long aging. Finish is intense and coating, with layers of fruit unfolding before it fades to shimmering herbal, saline and mineral tones. Undeveloped but full of potential, this needs at least a few more years, and decanting is recommended if you plan to open a bottle in the next decade or so.

On day two this is even better

April 11, 2021 - This second bottle is quite different from the first one Intried.

Nose: Fresh red fruits, herbal side is pleasantly there veryfinr]e notes of oregano.it isdeep90.
Taste: Fruity attack, fresh snd indeed-,pleasantly medium bodied with smooth tanins and nice length. 91

As much as I would not have recommended this one after first bottle (not bad but nothing to write home about ...) this second bottle has me doing a 180 and recommending this one.

November 17, 2020 - Nose: Red fruits though on the light side (86-88) with some herbal notes.

Taste: Very fruity first impression, medium bodied length is short.

Despite the above this a crowd pleaser and probably amidst acceptable wine for ore-meal drink.

October 22, 2019 - Very tight upon opening as the tannin and acidity are strong. Over many hours in the glass it begins to show its stuff. Rosemary, cherry cough syrup, gummy fig, blood orange. The palate (eventually) is all dark, ripe, wild strawberry. The tannin relaxes with aeration but the acidity remains making this quite fresh. Should age for many years. Decant for two or more hours if possible. But it's still fun as a pop and pour, just very intense.
