    April 10, 2020 - 2000 Gartieux.
Medium dark red color, 4mm clear margin. PNP, split bottle over 3 hrs. Love this nose, nicely perfumed with abundant leather, funk, roses, ground pencil, dark red berries, cassis, hints of blue fruit and dried wood spice. The palate is medium bodied, very earthy, refined pencil, leather, dried wood, cassis and more subtle boysenberry, fine integrated tannins and a medium mineral driven finish. This got better in the glass, but I'd say this is past peak now but should still drink well for awhile should you have the good fortune to have any.

October 28, 2018 - Decent showing for this little brother from Pichon Lalande, muted nose that evolved over an hour. Dark color reddish claret. The aromas of forest floor, mushrooms, minerals and dark fruits lasted well. Not much life left in this one but an enjoyable eighteen year old wine.

February 11, 2018 - Dinner with the Parents (Rocknroller's (Kevin & Vicki's Place)): Dark red color. PNP, drank a couple glasses over 2 hours. My love affair with this wine continues. This was my last bottle, but I happened to find one more out there by chance, so I have a sense of relief. I opened this for my dad and my sister knowing they would enjoy it. My dad doesn't drink much Bordeaux unless I'm opening it, but he thought this was one of the best he'd had. Wonderful nose of dried tobacco, pencil lead, leather, earth and just a little funk, cassis, raspberry. The palate is integrated, well tuned, medium bodied, elegant, dried strawberries, cassis, dried spices, potpourri, orange zest, pencil lead, dusty fine grained tannins. I look forward to someday opening the big sibling when the time is right. It should be quite something based on this. Simply a delight 93+ to 94pts.

January 25, 2018 - What a great bottle. Pencil shavings, leather, cigar box, structure, finesse. I couldn't ask for more from the 3rd wine of Lalande. Just a beautiful experience.

June 2, 2017 - Very dark red color, no bricking, 2mm clear margin. PNP, split bottle over 2 hours. I've always loved this, and it's still drinking great. Great nose starting with pencil but quickly evolving to tobacco, wet leather, cherry, dried spice, cassis. The palate is elegant, medium body, spiced cherry, cassis, tobacco, florals, damp earth, with a hint of blue fruit. This finishes with fine tannins and wood spice. 92+pts.
